SEEDS,  TUBERS  AND  SETS

Seeds, tubers and sets are the basic growing blocks for most vegetables, though some vegetables can also be grown from cuttings and offsets. This section deals with the various stages of choosing the right variety of seeds for your location, sowing the seed in the correct conditions to achieve germination, and growing-on the seedlings. It finishes with tables giving my suggestions for varieties, particularly suited for the North of the UK, or even earlier crops further South. These tables can be used as a check list prior to ordering your seed, tubers and sets for the coming season.
